Write On, Wipe Off Boards
Materials:
A variety of paper, approximately 8 1/2" X 11" (examples include school photo, calendar, or magazine pictures).
Decorative items, paint, felt pens.
Clear "Mac Tak" or laminating (available at Public library).
Dry Erase pen.
Glue
Scissors
Optional: magnet pieces to attach to back for a fridge board.
Procedure:
1. Create a design on paper.
2. Mac Tak or laminate.
Stick Up Magnets
Materials:
Lids from small jars or containers
A variety of decorative items: beads, buttons, puzzle pieces, coloured paper, foil, gift wrap, holiday cards, photos, negatives, etc.
A glue gun (with adult supervision) or white glue.
Magnets (old advertizing magnets, shower curtain magnets).
Procedure:
1. Glue items on the inside of the lid.
2. Glue a magnet piece on the back.
3. Stick it up on the fridge
Paper Making
Materials:
2 Frames, one with screen and one without
Scrap paper (greeting cards, newspaper, fliers, etc.)
Blender of food processor
Warm water
Large Basin
J-Clothes and dish towels
Newspapers for drying
Plastic bag
Shred the paper into strips and put in the blender or food processor with warm water. Be sure you have enough water that the blender doesn't have to work too hard. You want your paper pulp the consistency of a milkshake.
