Solid Waste - Field Services
The Waste Management function for the Peace River Regional District operates Regional landfills in Bessborough, Chetwynd and Fort St. John. Transtors facilities (large compacting garbage bins) are operated at Tumbler Ridge and Hudson's Hope. A Rural Landfill is in operation at Rose Prairie, and 35 transfer stations exist throughout the regional district. In total, the landfills receive 60,00 tonnes of waste, annually.
